MUSC SANE Staff Meeting
Feb. 26, 2013
Minutes
I. People (Fostering employee pride & loyalty)
a. Call calendar issues – please check the calendar file you are saving your call time to. It should say “MUSC SANE” and not your name.
b. Makeover night – March 29 at Janet’s, 6pm – this is “gift” to us, sponsored by Melissa Milnick from the NCVC. She is also a Mary Kay Distributor and has donated numerous items to our department for patient use, as well as My Sister’s House. We will gather for a night of fun and relaxation, to rejuvenate our spirits! Hope to see everyone there.
II. Service (Serving the public with compassion, respect & excellence)
a. Take Back the Night – April 4, 6pm at Brittlebank Park. PAR has partnered with the SANE program to present this annual, nation-wide event. There will be family-oriented activities, music and speakers. Please come out to support our team and work with PAR. Nancy and Kathy’s hubbies will help manage the parking – so it is a family event!
b. “To go” bag – the suitcase is in the exam room under the counter. It contains a swab dryer, kit, chart documents, extra swabs and other items you may need in an exam. It is to be used when going off site (out of the exam room). Please restock the suitcase after you use it.
III. Quality (Providing quality patient care in a safe environment)
a. Flagyl is available in a pre-packaged dose from the pharmacy for dispensing when a patient cannot immediately take it. –Reminder!!
b. SANE chart update – no suggestions were made for any changes to the new SANE assessment. Discussion took place about this and several additions were recommended at the meeting. The changes have been made and the form is to go before the forms committee at the end of March.
